For 20+ years, Starting Point’s Special Needs Child Care Services have used a strengths-based approach to provide high standards of care for children with medical, developmental, and social-emotional and behavioral challenges. We are dedicated to helping every child reach his or her potential, regardless of any challenges.

Special Needs Technical Assistance
Available in Cuyahoga County
Child care homes and centers in need of Special Needs Technical Assistance should complete the following:
- Fill out the request form with the correct information (see below)
- Send the completed form to connie.mcginnis-loftin@starting-point.org and CC diane.stuart@starting-point.org.

Examples of special needs by areas of support:
- Medical – Allergies, Asthma, G-tube, Reactive Airways
- Developmental – Autism, suspected Autism, speech delays, physical and cognitive challenges
- Social-Emotional/Behavioral – challenges with social skills, difficulty building and maintaining relationships, aggression or withdrawal, difficulty understanding social rules and norm
Special Needs Child Care Technical Assistance
Provided in Cuyahoga County for child care programs looking for consultation on behalf of children with special needs.
Special Needs Trainings
Our team offers a range of specialized trainings from experts in behavioral, developmental and mental health physical health, and the medical field.
Special Needs Partnerships
Promoting the development, identification, and implementation of prevention services in collaboration with the Early Childhood Education community.
