Special Needs Child Care Programs: Therapeutic Child Care Partnership Pilot
For the 2025-2026 school year, Starting Point is excited to partner with selected child care programs in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake Counties in the Therapeutic Child Care Partnership pilot program to offer and coordinate services for children with or without an IEP/IFSP. We will provide services right in the child’s child care classroom!
This is helpful for children with an IEP that may be on a wait list through their school-district. This way, the child doesn’t have to pause their progress while on a waiting list. They can start receiving the support they need in a familiar environment where they already feel comfortable and safe.
Our goal is to help children build the skills they need to feel confident and ready for kindergarten, and to keep growing and thriving as they continue their learning journey!
Identified children will receive the following support:
- Behavioral Health consultations
- Speech Services
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Home-based services (if applicable)
- Recommendations tailored to the needs of the child
- Support strategies modeled for teachers
- Updates provided to families about their child’s progress and what’s working
This initiative is coordinated by Starting Point’s Special Needs Child Care Programs and Services and made possible through funding from the Ohio Department of Children and Youth. Together, we are committed to helping every child reach their full potential, no matter the challenges they face.
