Child care and out-of-school time programs often tell us the same thing: they want their staff to learn together, but bringing in a trainer for a full professional development day isn’t always possible.
That’s why the Starting Point team is launching Professional Development Days for center based, family child care home, and out-of-school time providers in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.
These in-person training events give programs across Northeast Ohio an opportunity to bring their staff together for hands-on professional development led by experienced trainers — free of charge.
Choose a date that works for your team at a convenient location, register your staff, and spend the day building skills together.
What can you expect at a Professional Development Day?
Each Professional Development Day includes:
- Two interactive training sessions
- A minimum of 1.5 Ohio Approved (OA) hours when attending the full day
- Experienced instructors from Starting Point and trusted partners in the field
- Hands-on learning with strategies you can apply right away
- Resources and tools to bring back to your classroom or program
Designed for Child Care & Out-of-School Time Teams
These trainings are designed with program administrators and their staff in mind.
Instead of sending staff to different trainings throughout the year, programs can register their entire team for the same professional development day.
Training together helps teams:
- Build a shared understanding of effective practices
- Strengthen communication across staff
- Apply strategies consistently across classrooms or programs
- Meet professional development requirements together
Programs may register multiple staff members or individual participants.
