Child care programs give vital feedback on the state of the child care workforce
Starting Point conducted a workforce survey in December 2022 to understand child care programs’ barriers to staffing and enrollment. Over 300 child care programs in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake counties responded. We are sharing some of the key takeaways from the survey results.
Starting Point is developing strategies to support child care programs and address these barriers so children can access care and education and caregivers can work. We are actively pursuing pathways to increase wages for the child care workforce and advocating for long-term, sustainable solutions to support this vital occupation.
Thank you to the child care programs in Northeast Ohio that shared their program workforce data and challenges with us. We are committed to keeping your voice centered in our work on your behalf.
