The Teacher’s Role in Addressing Challenging Behaviors

Through lecture, discussion and hands-on activities participants will explore the teacher’s role in guiding young children’s behavior and discover the importance of strong relationships. They will explore ways to guide children’s behavior through creating pro-social environments and interactions in their programs. Participants will put this knowledge to work as they practice observing and analyzing children’s behavior in order to plan environmental and individual supports that teach prosocial skills. Participants will reflect on their current practices in order to guide their next steps.
