The Face of Homelessness in Early Childhood Settings

Homelessness does not always look the way we expect it to. Families may be staying with relatives, moving from place to place, living in temporary housing, or facing other forms of housing instability.

In this training, participants will learn how homelessness may appear in early childhood settings and explore signs that a child or family may need additional support.

Participants will also discuss practical, respectful strategies for building trust, communicating with families, connecting them with resources, and supporting children during times of uncertainty and transition.

This training will help early childhood professionals feel more prepared to recognize possible housing instability and respond with awareness, compassion, and support.
