In this training, participants will learn how trauma impacts brain function and, in turn, how brain function affects social and emotional development. They will explore how trauma affects the child’s ability to obtain and sustain relationships and they will develop an understanding of what it means to be “trauma informed”. Participants will examine how incentive programs are generally not beneficial to children, who have been affected by trauma. Participants will learn how to apply “hands on” trauma informed practices in a practical and logical way that benefits all children in the classroom.
