Studies have shown that exposure to trauma may impact one’s ability to concentrate, self-regulate, and communicate effectively. Because these skills are not fully developed in young children, they are particularly vulnerable to the negative effects of trauma. Play-based art experiences facilitated by nurturing and supportive caregivers provide young children the opportunity to build resiliency while exploring their ideas and feelings in a safe environment. During this training, participants will be introduced to the benefits of art in the Early Childhood setting to support children who have experienced trauma.

To register for this event please do the following:

1.  Copy the ST # located on this page.
2.  Click the register button which will take you to OCCRRA’s website.
3.  Log into Ohio’s Professional Registry using your OPIN number and password.
4.  Click the “Training Search” located at the bottom left side of the page in the dark blue menu area.
5.  Paste the ST# at the top of the page where it allows you to “Search event title, event ID, instructor name” and click “search” or hit the “enter” key.
6.   Once you review the information please click the “add to cart” button.
7.  Click “view cart” button and checkout.
8.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to the training site for training.
