Now recruiting Board Members for Starting Point.

Our Board of Directors, comprised of leaders from various industries across northeast Ohio, embodies a shared passion for quality early childhood education, child care, and out-of-school time, making our mission possible

As a board member, you’ll be responsible for providing governance, strategic direction, and oversight to Starting Point. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting strategic mission and direction
  • Establishing governance and policies
  • Providing financial oversight
  • Hiring and evaluating executive leadership
  • Identifying and managing risk
  • Developing and planning for board membership and succession
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including policy & advocacy engagement
  • Tracking organizational performance


We are looking for community members who are eager to engage and contribute at board meetings, willing to actively participate on at least one committee (such as Governance, Advancement, Finance & Audit, Policy & Advocacy), support and champion Starting Point’s mission and strategic plan, and are able to make a financial contribution. 

Each board member commits to serving three years.
