Our Board of Directors represent a cross-section of the Northeast Ohio community.

Officers

Chair: Susannah Muskovitz, Esq.

 

Susannah is a union-side labor attorney and a parent of three children. She understands the need to ensure quality childcare and out-of-school time programs are accessible to all working parents. She is proud to be the Board Chair of Starting Point, which is critical in connecting families with these options.

Directors

Andrew Hertz, MD.

Andrew “Drew” Hertz, MD is a general pediatrician with extensive experience in community practice, health system executive administration, and as a health-care advisor and entrepreneur. He has served as a prior President of Starting Point and brings to the organization a passion for improving the lives of all children and families in northeast Ohio. 

 

Adam Munson  

Adam Munson is Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Assistant Secretary at Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. 

Amy Willey    

Amy Willey is a Member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group at McDonald Hopkins and serves as general outside counsel for companies with the dual objectives of profit and purpose. She is a new mom to twins and enjoys spending time with her twin boys and husband. 

Erin Deimling  

Erin Deimling is a Senior Vice President and Director of Client and Community Relations at PNC Bank. In this role, she develops and implements charitable giving, sponsorships, and local branding strategies as well as employee engagement initiatives for the Cleveland Market. This includes local leadership of PNC Grow Up Great, a $500 million, multi-year initiative that helps better prepare underserved preschool children for success in school and life. 

Terri Purcell, PhD 

Dr. Purcell is an associate professor in literacy education at Cleveland State University. Her research interests include exploring the factors that impact reading development, racial equity in teacher preparation, and strengthening teacher preparation for urban schools. 

 

Jessica Robins 

Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, where she studied Psychology and History of Art, and she has a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education. After working in education for 18 years in public and independent schools as both teacher and administrator, Jessica is now the Director of Early Childhood Excellence at the Jewish Education Center.   

 

Nancy Wellener  

Nancy Wellener is an experienced non-profit board trustee and community advocate for high-quality educational opportunities for children and youth. She served for many years on the Education Committee for United Way of Greater Cleveland, and as a Trustee for United Way of Medina County. In addition to her role at Starting Point, she serves on the boards of Great Lakes Theater and the Conservancy for the National Park. 

 

Matthew Hanculak 

Matthew is currently Director, Customer Experience Strategy at The Progressive Corporation. He has over 20 years of experience leading strategy and operations teams in multiple industries, including insurance, retail, and client services. Matthew holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. 

Kathryn Hexter  

Kathryn Hexter is an urban planner and public policy analyst. Before retiring in 2017, she directed the Center for Community Planning and Development at the Levin College of Urban Affairs, Cleveland State University where she focused her policy research on affordable housing, sustainable community and neighborhood development and civic engagement. 

Sara Steines Newstead, MPP 

Sara Newstead is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Genesis Health Consulting, a national firm specializing in strategies, program development, and policies that systemically and equitably improve the health and well-being of kids, families, and communities.
