At Starting Point, we recognize that your growth journey is unique. That’s why we encourage you to approach us with the specific area you’re looking to develop—whether it’s Step Up to Quality, classroom management, or something else. We’re here to be your starting point, no matter what you’re looking to work on for your child care site. Your unique needs are at the heart of our approach.
But now, our Intake Specialist, Sally Jo, will match you with a Starting Point Early Education Program Specialist who has the most expertise in what you’re looking for. We’ll also be making a shift to refer to our dedicated staff as “Specialists” to better clarify the roles and to reflect their expertise. Sally is also there to answer your questions, provide resources, and offer prompt support for immediate needs. Once matched with a Specialist, we’ll open a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a set timeframe to tackle your area of growth. You’ll get the same trusted service from a Starting Point Specialist, with all the benefits of a specialized approach.
This still isn’t a one-size-fits-all. We’re accounting for your unique needs during intake, and we’ll strive to create a plan that not only works for you but also respects your individual circumstances and preferences. And, if there are speed bumps along the way, we will work with you to adjust the plan.
No More Juggling Multiple Plans at Once
With this new model, you can focus on a singular SMART goal that matters most to you. We might still help you with multiple issues each year—but the difference is, we will tackle them one at a time, together. Why the change? Because successful project management is based on SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound) and we want you to succeed! Instead of trying to juggle multiple issues, you’ll work with your matched Specialist to achieve a clear, measurable outcome. We’re confident with this method, you’ll see real progress and build momentum.
You’re not alone tackling your goals—you have the support of Starting Point with you! Your assigned Specialist is a dedicated partner, guiding you through a targeted plan designed for your success. This new process strengthens our partnership and builds the trust that you’re working with the right expert for your needs.
A Clear Finish Line
One of the biggest changes is the time-bound nature of our assistance. Having a set timeframe is a powerful motivator for change. Instead of an open-ended commitment, you’ll have a clear finish line for your goal. We’ve found that many common goals fit into predictable timeframes, giving you a clear path to success.
Here are some examples of what to expect:
- Bronze Rating: Approximately 8 weeks.
- Silver or Gold Rating: Approximately 12 weeks.
- Classroom Management: Approximately 8 weeks to go from chaos to calm.
- Classroom Transitions: Approximately 5 weeks.
- Improved Classroom Environments (for infants, toddlers, preschool, or school-age children): Approximately 6 weeks.
- Increased Child-Adult Language Interactions (LENA): Approximately 5 weeks.
- Administrative support (getting organized or putting systems in place for smooth operations or licensing compliance): Approximately 6 weeks.
